One of my loves is creating ceramics. With clay I can create 3-d illustrations. The only downsides are that: (1) it’s messy and I can’t do it in my home studio; and (2) I’m a bit of a klutz and tend to break things before I get them home.
It started about 10 years ago on the Sunshine Coast when Kim Wallace gave me a handful of clay and told me to play. Out of my hands popped little owls.
Since then I’ve taken hand-building classes at Slow Clay Centre in Collingwood and most recently with Karen Steenbergen in Torquay. I hope to find a new studio in Fremantle where I can continue to develop my obsession/craft.
