I seek to capture the subtle details in my paintings and illustrations – like the delicate weave of a bird’s nest or the tired expression of a wombat – things that might otherwise go unnoticed. My primary sources of inspiration are birds and animals that are in the Australian environment and wherever possible, I utilize eco-friendly practices in my studio. If you look closely you will also find many North American species on my website — I have been living in Brisbane for three years now but am still drawn to my little chickadees and great horned owls.
For the past two years I have been focusing my studio time on scratchboard (top), although I still find time for painting with acrylic mixed media (above) and watercolors (below) when I need some color.
